Game Jams

Entropy

Theme: The Solo Development Game Jam was a 72 hour long game jam, where participants were challenged to come up with a game completely on their own that fit the theme of “Chaos”.

Concept: The player assumes the role of a single molecule with the goal of creating as much entropy in the universe as possible. This is achieved by smashing into other molecules in order to “Activate” them, which sends them flying across the screen. Once a molecule has been “Activated”, the player must avoid being hit by that molecule.

Escape Velocity

Theme: The Score Space Game Jam was a 72 hour long game jam, where participants were challenged to come up with a game that used a leaderboard and fit the theme of “Escape”.

Concept: The player gets to build a spaceship of their own, balancing various attributes in an attempt to make a ship that’s fast enough to outrun the “Galaxy Plague”. An online leaderboard powered by LootLocker is available for players to compare scores and see who was able to outrun the Galaxy Plague the longest.

King Of Fling

Theme: The Indieformer Patch Notes game jam was a 72 hour game jam based on the theme “The Error Is The Feature”.

Concept: We tried to stand out with a creative interpretation of the theme: “What is instead of a computer error, we base it off a player error?” So we ran with the idea of purposefully colliding with enemy projectiles rather than avoiding them. We created a unique movement system where the player flings themselves from wall to wall in an attempt to absorb as many projectiles as possible and save their science lab from destruction.
